HOW TO DRESS ACCORDING TO YOUR BODY TYPE- PART 3

There are lot of factors to consider when getting dressed but knowing the right clothes to wear according to your body type and highlighting your best feature is also important. With the constant change in trends, it can be hard choosing the right clothes that would work well for you but I have got you covered in this post. Whether you want to highlight a certain body part, highlight your curves or any other part of your body.

HOW TO DRESS ACCORDING TO YOUR BODY TYPE

STRAIGHT/RECTANGLE BODY SHAPE

The rectangle body shape has the same or almost the same measurements for the vital body parts{bust, waist, high hip, hip}.

WHAT TO WEAR

A-Line skirts, ruffled and layered tops, tube tops. wear clothes that make the bottom part of your body look a bit big and clothes that give your upper body a bit flesh. Sleeveless, strapless, blazers, long jackets, capes{just get the upper part of your body busy}, belt to cinch your waist to create a slim hourglass look.

PEAR/SPOON/TRIANGLE BODY SHAPE

Your lower part is bigger than your upper body. If you have a pear body shape, Kim Kardashian has a pear body shape {she should be your style icon}.

WHAT TO WEAR

Wear fitted clothing to show your lower body part though I feel your lower body is already visible because that is the highlight of your body shape so I suggest you also wear clothing that would make the upper part a bit visible too.
Crop tops, v-cut, wide-leg pants, A-line skirts/dresses with patterned or ruffled tops, Wear clothes that add volume to your bust. Accessorize your upper body and avoid clothes with loose bottoms.

APPLE BODY SHAPE

The upper part of this shape is bigger compared to the lower part so you need clothes that wouldn’t make your upper part too visible than the way it already is because that is where your strength lies.

WHAT TO WEAR

Wear V neck, wear clothes with a slit to reveal your lower body also. A-line skirts/dresses, printed and patterned jackets, flare pants, 3/4th sleeve dresses, and always wear the right bra since you have a fuller breast.

HOURGLASS BODY SHAPE

The hourglass shape has all body parts in the right proportion and a well-defined waist.

WHAT TO WEAR

Clothes that cinch your waist to reveal your shape, Wrap tops and skirts, tops/dresses with pleated waist, v neckline, A-line dresses, body-hugging dresses. Almost every clothes look good on an hourglass shape so don’t be scared to try any clothes out.

TOP HOURGLASS SHAPE

Similar to the hourglass shape body and your waist is the highlight of your body shape.

WHAT TO WEAR

V neck clothes/tops, dark color tops, well-tailored shirts, and jackets. Try skirts and clothes with lengths. Avoid baggy jeans, loose items of clothing, frills and ruffles near your bust line, wide-leg trousers.

INVERTED TRIANGLE BODY SHAPE

The inverted triangle body shape is similar to the apple body shape but with some differences{just put the inverted triangle body shape is the slim version of the apple body shape}.

WHAT TO WEAR

Always wear clothing that would add definition to your hips to create a balance to your upper body since your shoulders are quite broad.
Pencil skirts, skinny jeans,v neck, high waist pants, satin dresses, bell bottoms, skirts/trousers with front pockets. If you want to do pattern and layering of clothes, then it should be on your lower body and not your upper body.

OVAL BODY SHAPE

The waist is not well defined and if you fall under this category, you tend to add more weight around the stomach area making your waist the widest part of your body.

WHAT TO WEAR

Wear clothes that would make your midsection look slim. Peplum tops, cargo tops with pockets near your hip to make your hip look big, dresses/skirts above your knees to show off your legs, wrap-around tops.

DIAMOND BODY SHAPE

The Diamond body shape is just like the oval body shape, you tend to gain more weight in the midsection also and the difference between the diamond and oval body shape is that the diamond shape has a narrow bust that aligns with the shoulders and broad hips.

WHAT TO WEAR

Try to create a balance with your bust so as to make your waist look slim. Go for pants and skirts that would make you look slimmer, belted tops/dresses, A-line & straight skirts, bootcut trousers. Well structured shouldered skirts and jackets. Off the shoulder tops, strapless tops, belted tops, balloon skirt, tunic{}, crop tops, high neck tops, peplum, fluttered sleeves{}, pencil skirts, baggy jeans, etc.
Avoid skin-tight dresses and dark trousers.

ATHLETIC BODY SHAPE

The athletic body shape is basically a masculine body with well-toned curves and well-built shoulders, arms, and tight thighs.

WHAT TO WEAR

Knee-length dresses and skirts that are well fitted. You can also wear skirts that are fitted. You can also wear belts to highlights your curve, off shoulder tops & dresses, high neck tops, sportswear, wrap-around dresses/tops. Avoid padded shoulder tops, v neck, halter neck, spaghetti straps.

LOLLIPOP BODY SHAPE

This shape has a full round bosom{bust}, slim waist and hips, long legs, and broad shoulders. If you fall under this category, then Angelina Jolie should be your style icon.

WHAT TO WEAR
Wear dresses that broaden your hips, wraparounds, high slits dresses/skirts, flowy dresses, leather jackets, peplum tops, etc.
Avoid lose and boxy skirts, long skirts{except it has slits}, high waisted pants, bell buttons, turtle neck.

IN CONCLUSION

You are beautiful and God created you uniquely. The body shape you fall under doesn’t tell less of you and there is no perfect body shape. Eat good Food and stay happy always.
